During the French President Macron’s state visit to China, and in presence of the French and Chinese leaders, ENGIE China signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, with Jiangsu Linyang Energy Co., Ltd. (Linyang Energy). The two Parties intend to work together to develop the renewable energy business in support of the Chinese government’s development goals in the field of clean energy and carbon reduction targets.
Linyang Energy was founded in 1995 as one of the famous domestic suppliers of Smart Energy metering and Electricity management (including terminal products and system solutions). The products and solutions of Linyang Energy include smart meter, AMI system, LED, intelligent lighting system, energy efficiency management platform, energy-saving services, photovoltaic module, distributed photovoltaic power station system, distributed power station operating platform, Micro-grid system etc., which cover the three areas of Smart Energy, Energy-saving and Renewable Energy.
ENGIE is committed to taking on the major challenges of the energy revolution, towards a world more decarbonised, decentralised and digitalised. The Group aims to become the leader of this new energy world by focusing on three key activities for the future: low carbon generation (in particular from natural gas and renewable energy), energy infrastructures and efficient solutions adapted to all its customers (individuals, businesses, territories, etc.).

Linyang Energy intends to accelerate the development of renewable energy related businesses, and looks for potential cooperation & international partners to develop its strategy.
In the framework of this strategic cooperation agreement, the cooperation between ENGIE China and Linyang Energy intends to cover several sectors of clean energy:
- investment in PV and off-shore wind projects;
- investment in comprehensive energy supply demonstrators including renewable energy + storage + microgrid + electrical vehicle charging stations.
